Marcia C. Smith: Female anatomy authority
While skimming through an Orange County Register article about the dual roles female athletes have as mothers (strictly for the Jenny Johnson Jordan and Annette Buckner blurb, you understand), I came upon the oddest paragraph by columnist Marcia C. Smith. While mentioning that Lisa Leslie and Lindsay Davenport are both pregnant and, for the time being, not participating in sports, Smith wrote the following.
They're pregnant. They don't have typical offseason workouts. They have wombs.
Ooookay. Did I miss something? Did someone claim they didn't have wombs? Is there some question as to the existence of the womb within the female athlete? 'Cause otherwise I'm aware that physical activity does not preclude the existence of the standard, er, "equipment" for a woman.
