Speaking of caffeine...

We realize that this is kind of a slow period for volleyball programs. The biggest news right now is usually a late signing, news of an awards banquet, or an event the team is involved in.

And some of these events seem genuinely worthwhile: building houses in New Orleans, reading to kids, etc. But it seems like some websites are really reaching to put anything on their site. Enter Oregon State. Seems like they're reaching a little with their latest entry about how the players got together to help paint a local coffee shop.

Not exactly solving world hunger, is it. I kept waiting for some kind of explanation such as the whole thing was being filmed for a very special episode of "Trading Spaces," but none came.

Favorite quote from the article, posted before the actual event, states, "The Red Horse personnel and the OSU volleyball team anticipate a fun time in the process."

WOW. I bet they do.
