Watch out boy, she'll chew you up
While the rest of us slog through winter, Missouri's Jessica Vander Kooi gives the following quote about life in Puerto Rico, where she now lives while playing for Indias Mayaguez in the Puerto Rico Superior League:
“I hate to say it, especially for all the readers in Columbia who are wearing heavy coats, but the weather here is great,” she said. “It never gets below 70 degrees and the high is usually between 85 and 95 every day.”
Oh, well isn't that de-lightful...
And by the way, this quote comes from The Maneater, a twice-weekly published newspaper for the University of Missouri.
Maneater? Is this a subtle head nod to Hall & Oates or is something more sinister going on here? Their website proclaims the paper "operates independently of the university, student government, the School of Journalism and any other campus entity."
Well, with a name like "Maneater" it'd pretty much have to, wouldn't it?
