Your volleyball future: Old Dominion University
In a couple of years, Old Dominion is going to join the women's collegiate volleyball world, becoming the first school to add volleyball since...well, I don't know and I'm not sure where I'd find that kind of info. If only there was some kind of online information resource.
Anyhoo, ODU is adding women's volleyball. And as a public service to those who really, really plan ahead and are already working on their resumes, we'd like to present to you, Old Dominion: A university in Virginia.
Location (and potential first hurdle): Norfolk, Virginia. Choose your pronunciation wisely.
Really specific location: According to the website, the campus stretches from Elizabeth River to Lafayette River. "That school's between two rivers, Cotton!"
Enrollment: Over 14,000 undergrad, over 6,000 graduate students, most of those desperately avoiding real life by failing to complete their dissertations on a topic so specific, nobody else could possibly care.
National championships: ODU has won a whopping 28 national titles! Who is going to be your greatest rivals for the athletic director's favor? You're gonna wanna keep an eye on that shifty women's field hockey program, which has 9 national titles, and sailing, which has 15 titles in various events from women's singlehanded to co-ed dinghy to sloop. Yyyeah, sounds made up, doesn't it? The other slacker sports don't come close, with women's basketball only taking 3 national championships, and men's basketball 1. Losers.
That's just to whet your appetite. Now get to Kinko's.
