Dowling leaves Kentucky to make room for Billy Donovan under UK salary cap

According to the Kentucky website, assistant coach Janae Dowling is leaving the program to be with her husband, a military man who will soon go through training at Fort Benning, Georgia. At least that's what they'd like you to believe.

It's no coincidence that Dowling is leaving right before the impending arrival of Billy Donovan, the newest basketball wunderkind. And with the salary that Donovan is reportedly being offered, obviously the Kentucky athletic department is cutting costs elsewhere, starting with the women's volleyball team. This whole "leaving to be with my husband" thing is just a cover story

How do we know this? According to the article, Dowling's husband is "Steven Fundingsland." Fundingsland? That's clearly a made-up name, and not a good one at that.

Secondly, who leaves Lexington, Kentucky, for Fort Benning, Georgia? I mean, um...actually, that's kind of a draw.

Other rumored belt-tightening as a result of the impending Billy Donovan hiring includes all non-Billy Donovan-coached teams traveling in rented Lincoln Continentals and team meals being provided by the Ramen Noodles corporation.
